<p>Hello</p> <p>I'd like to buy a digital voice recorder to record classes or language conversation exchanges. IOW, it'll be voice (not music), but the setting could be quiet or a bit noisy. This is not for professional use but I'd like some good quality sound.</p> <p>I've never bought this type of device so don't know what to get/check.</p> <p>One feature I need, is the possibility of "bookmarks/indexes", ie. being able to put marks on a recording where it gets interesting so that I can go jump to those sections directly. <p>The first thing I do with iTunes on all computers I use it on is checking the check-box "Prevent iPods... from synching automatically". This morning on both my home and work computers this check-box happened to be unchecked. I found that after plugged-in my iPod at work, and all the music was gone. Logged into my home computer, and it's unchecked there too! And just few hours ago on my way from home to work the music was in the iPod. And before I left home — iPod was connected to home computer, and everything was fine. So that change must have happened between 8 and 9 am on May 12, 2010.</p> <p>The files are still inside the iPod, with all the tags in place, although filenames are changed as iPod does it. I just need to find 130GB of free space and several hours of my time to dump it to a local drive, upload again, and mark the compilations as such.</p> <p>Wondering if that happened this morning to me only.</p> <p>(And I hate Apple for doing that if they have anything to do with it, and that's not some kind of a virus. Either way — they must provide a way to back-up that xml or scan the disk to restore access to the library which is still in the iPod.)</p>
